Sketches of the first generation of birds. The trumpet bird became extinct in the pre-Kortjakje era.
Survival of the fittest
Many of the sketches were optically scanned and then projected to find out how flat drawings and animations could work in a three-dimensional stage set. Sometimes drawing is like an evolutionary process. Lots of birds were drawn that kept evolving. Most of these died off, but even so they contributed towards the development of new species, with only the best adapted managing to reach the stage.
